Due Diligence Projects

The consultants of Star Risk have performed due diligence work for numerous public firms acquiring companies with transaction prices exceeding several hundred million dollars.  We have analyzed retail firms in the U.K. , drug and rehabilitation centers and large manufacturing firms in the U.S., and publicly traded firms acquiring rivals in their industry.   We have also consulted for numerous investment banking and private equity firm transactions involving portfolio companies.  Star Risk is well versed in performing due diligence work.

We will perform an in-depth forensic review of an organization’s current risk management program along with its past history to identify any possible liabilities that may transfer to the buyer.   We have previously found errors with accruals and coverage gaps that were not identified, resulting in significant adjustments in the purchase-sell agreements involving our clients.  We have also represented sellers to promote a transaction and to address risk management information requests.  Since we do not sell insurance and have no third party relationships that could bias our opinions and evaluations, we are the firm of choice for due diligence projects requiring an expert analysis for either a buyer or a seller.

Star Risk will review the employment policies, procedures, safety and loss control functions, and claims experience of an organization.  These aspects of a firm’s risk management program are crucial for understanding the true costs associated with a proposed transaction.  Our goal is to understand the entire organization’s risk management health and to share this information in a straightforward and easily understood manner with our client.
